Welcome to the Illinois Safe and Drug-Free
The Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities (SDFSC) is a critical part of The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 national effort to ensure academic success for all students. The SDFSC program authorizes a variety of activities designed to prevent school violence and youth drug use, and to help schools and communities create safe, disciplined and drug-free environments that support academic achievement. The SDFSC is the primary source of funding for the majority of our nation’s school-based drug and violence prevention and intervention infrastructure. The Illinois SDFSC website illuminates core researched-evidence based strategies and practices, promotes capacity building, enhances planning and implementation, models evaluation and assessment approaches for local educational agencies.
